sidetracking : making money with Smorty

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Like everybody else, I need money. Not really tons of it but hey, I need to pay for my rolls of film, processing and all the printing for my photography wall that I decided to join the money-making blog bandwagon aside from the inconspicuous little Google Adsense Ads that I have on my posts ever [...]

The thing with expired film is…

Friday, March 28th, 2008

You’ll never know what you’re going to get.
I had 2 rolls of Fuji Superia 200 given to me by a friend of mine since she has no use for it. So I have managed to finish this roll and sent it to Digiprint for processing.
Checking the date, it was expired since 2002, that’s a [...]

A beautiful picture isn’t always a happy picture

Monday, March 24th, 2008

They say I’m happy, but it’s a lie….
Even in photographs, there will be times where you will have to show real hatred, real contempt, real despair, real anger and real sadness.
This is no forced shoot, I took a shot of my tear lined face, my swollen eyes and a look that couldn’t be replicated unless [...]

film 101 by the level 5 n00b.

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

Ever since my stint on film photography, I was deeply and seriously immersed in my relationship with film (think snapping jaws and growling teeth whenever someone goes near my “stash”). We’re talking about scrutinizing and inspecting every camera shop that may have the slightest hint of film inside. And the swap of passion from coffee [...]

on slide film : the unpredictable side of cross-processing

Monday, March 17th, 2008

This is my first ever look at a slide film cross-processed that is not a Kodak Elitechrome. One day, I took the fiery pink and orange sunset with my canon av-1 + an even more fiery fujichrome velvia 100. Here were the hot, hot HOT results.

canon av-1 + expired fujchrome velvia 100 + x-process @ [...]

the smell of defeat…

Saturday, March 15th, 2008

…this is the harsh reality check. it makes you think about giving in or getting up and moving further.
this is moving further on.

addiction to skies.

Thursday, March 13th, 2008

Some member in a photography forum commented on a particular set that I contributed.
You must really like the sky. Almost all your takes have the sky in them.
I would have to agree. Sometimes I feel a landscape shot wouldn’t be complete without the great big sky. I focus too much on the clouds, the hues [...]

i’m just waiting.

macroed, canon ixy 910 is, post-processed with adobe lightroom
When I go into the waiting game (not for film…), I have a lot of time to kill in a span of 20-30 minutes. Most of the time, I would assess the area and gather out my “gear” (oh, my god did I actually call my [...]
