  1. Hello I was going to purchase a Vivitar UW&S, so I thought I’d pop by your website to enquire some stuff. What difference would it make if I used an expired film, or if I cross processed it? Would very much appreciate it, thank you.

  2. Hi Nat, your vivitar uw&s would be a great for sunny and outdoor shooting.

basically the difference in using expired film or cross-processed is the output of the pictures. expired films usually still has the same qualities when fresh if stored properly in the freezer. while cross processed pictures (which uses the regular color negative process for slide film (expired or not)) would result in an unpredictable color shift and high saturated colors depending on the film… (you can check here for a list of film posts that I have written a while back for your reference)

    hope this helps :)
    Thanks for dropping by :D

  3. Oh gee thank you, I never knew there were so many films available? Got me really confused..

  4. hi Nat , sorry for confusing you ^__^;; if you want, you can try and use a regular color negative and a slide film and have them processed (have the slide film cross-processed) so you see the difference.

if you still have questions, please don’t hesitate to ask :)

  5. I’m sorry to pose another question but does a Vivitar act like any other normal film cameras?

  6. Hi Nat :)

the vivitar uw&s works like a regular point and shoot camera :) no you just aim at anything that you want and press the shutter as long as it is within the focusing distance (around my arm’s length so around 3 feet?) Anything within and beyond that will be sharp. :)

No problem about the questions, in fact, you just gave me an idea to post about the vivitar uw&s camera :D

  7. yeah, i’m planning to get a vivitar… i’m thinking which is better, UW&S or PN?

  8. hi keith :)), it depends on your likings. the only difference I think is that PN gives you a black border on both top and bottom of your picture creating the “panoramic” effect. the vivitar uw&s on the otherhand utilizes the full frame of the camera, plus you get the lightleaks and vignettes. :D Not sure if you get that with the PN though (the lightleaks and vignettes)
